Try http://www.be-direct.co.uk/ They seem to be cheaper than anybody
and good service with it.

Recently bought a Siemens washing machine - 400 with 5 year warrantee as
standard. If you really want to push the boat out, one of the new Siemens
washers comes with a 10 year warrantee.

Stick with any of the German makes (AEG, Bosch, Miele, Siemens) and you wont
go wrong.

We bought a Hotpoint a couple of years ago. Nice machine, blends in well
with the rest of the kitchen, nice set of features.

It was all fine until the electrics started blowing most of the time it was
running, after a few months. To cut a very long story short, it took about
a year before they agreed to send us a replacement machine (many visits by
technicians who kept thinking they had solved the problem). Had quite a few
arguments, as it went out of the one year replacement period, even though we
had reported the problem after a few months.

The new machine hasn't given us any problems since (proving that it was the
old machine, not our electrics).

The machine is good, but the service contract was very poor. I haven't
looked myself, but see if you can get some reviews of repair companies. I
will not buy another Hotpoint product purely due to the fact the it took so
long for the repair company to acknowledge a problem with the machine and
sort it out.

Grendel.

I hope that you realise that these machines are German in name only - they
are built in the same Milanese factories as all the other machines.
