Default Lidl's Walkie talkie - bargain or not?

http://www.lidl.co.uk/gb/index.nsf/p....Walkie_Talkie

Is this Walkie Talkie a bargain? It seems cheap but does it allow
speech to be broadcasted. The prominance of the morse code button
makes me think that you can't talk into this 'walkie talkie' added to
the fact that the pictures does'nt actually show anyone talking into
it either.
Can anyone with similarly inexpensive models comment on whether they
can broadcast speech?

I doubt it would be called a walkie talkie otherwise.

and what does the kid have it near his face for is he eating it.

Seems look a good deal

You will be able to talk with them , but the range is only about 20m on a
good day.
Kids toys and nothing else.

Even though it says 200m on the site?

Forget it, they are just toys. If you want something with a bit of range,
say two to three kilometres and a lot more channels, go for PMR 446 sets,
you should be able to pick a pair up for around £30...Argos is a good bet.

Isn't that the point of the "talkie" bit ?

The prominance of the morse code button makes me think that
you can't talk into this 'walkie talkie'

You mean where it says "additional" morse code button ?
As in "addition" to something else, such as talking into it ?

added to the fact that the pictures does'nt actually show
anyone talking into it either.

You mean such as those pictures smack bang in the middle of the page
showing a kid with one end against the ear and the other against the
mouth ?
