Anyone else buying these who could give their opinion. We live in a Orkney
and have no Lidl shop as yet so buy a couple of packs at a time as they are a substantial part of my diet. The first 2 packs were packs of 40 and excellent. Just got 2 more packs and they are packed in 50's which is fine. Upon starting them I have found them very salty and find them bordering on being unpalatable but this may be down to my having cut down on salt this last couple of years. Mick |

Mick It's 99% certain that you now have a low tolerance to salt. I removed as much salt as possible from my diet a year ago, now I can't tolerate the salt in butter, processed meat, take away food, restaurant food, even some frozen fish... Not that I eat the aforementioned often, only when visiting or dining out ! I have a diet of fresh veg/fruit and fish/chicken and we use no salt at all in preparation. Anything with a salt or sodium content above 0.5mgc/100mcg I can taste as unpalatable... |

My cats love them (will not touch Aldi ones and are so-so on the Lidl ones). |

It was a sudden change in taste from the end of the first pack of 40 and the first from the 2nd pack which was a pack of 50. Only cost 23p a tin so not a waste as others on the island like salty food. I had to stop eating vegemite because it started to taste salty but that was a gradual change as I became used to less salt. I now use freshly ground black pepper, root ginger and dried or fress hot chillies to spice up my food. Looking to see what I can mix the sardines with to thin out the salt conent per meal. - Mick |
