View Full Version : Christmas has come early...

Saw my 1st Christmas TV advert. Boots
Are they serious, it's mid-October. I for one wont be shopping at Boots
this year and taking my trade elsewere, anyone else who feels strongly
about it should do the same.
I feel sorry for the missus, they are forced to work most days over the
Christmas period, the only day off being Christmas Day itself, as now
Boxing Day and New Years day are acceptable shopping days now it seems....

The problem is, each store wants to get the crowds, so for the last few
years, stores have been trying to out do each other, by opening earlier.
Last year Woolworths were opening Boxing Day in our town, so the Argos
staff were forced to also open Boxing Day, but stores WITHOUT a
Woolworths, Argos stayed closed...

Well, what else would you expect in Rotherham! They need something to light
up their lives :-)
I didn't say that.
I LOVE Rotherham.
It's the cultural hub of South Yorkshire.

Indeed. In fact I don't understand why people buy a house based on what it
looks like outside rather than how it could work inside. Or even the view.
How often does one sit and watch the view? I don't, except to see what the
hens are doing.

heh.
I live in one of those streets that regularly gets featured in/on local
news, last year 14 houses on my road decked themselves out totally in xmas
lights. they started around the end of October with the attatching and
design. Their electric bill must be enormous! I do love Christmas and the
houses cheered me up a lot. The only thing that got me was, why don't they
have a little collection box, either to help pay for them or for charity?
Now I have said hello to one or 2 of them I might suggest it.
